Choosing the right  photographs
The better I can see your pet, the better I can capture their character.Don't worry if you're not a professional photographer — I'm looking for clear photographs that show your pet's features, expression and colouring.

Good photographs
Taken at eye level, in good light and with plenty of detail.
Clear, sharp photographs where your pet's eyes and features can be seen are usually best.
It can also be helpful to provide more than one photograph, particularly where fur patterns, markings or colours aren't clearly visible in a single image
Boxer dog with a harness
Photographs to avoid
Boxer dog on a beach
Blurred or looking away.
Granville is moving and looking down, making his face and eyes difficult to see. A clear photograph where your pet is looking towards the camera is usually best.
Boxer dog on a beach
Too far away.
Bob is too far away to show enough detail. Enlarging the photograph may result in a pixelated image.
Boxer puppy sat on a canal path
Too dark or taken from above.
This photograph is taken from above and is too dark on one side, making important details difficult to see.

Need a portrait by a particular date?

If you're looking for a pet portrait as a gift and have a particular date in mind, please get in touch before ordering so I can check whether I can meet your deadline.

If I don't have availability for your required date, a boxed Pet Portrait Gift Voucher is a lovely alternative. Your recipient can then work with me to create their portrait when I'm able to fit their commission into my schedule.

Ready to create a portrait of your pet?
Tell me a little about what you have in mind and upload your favourite photographs. I'll review everything and get back to you to discuss the next steps.
